Education Mezzanine Floor, Shropshire College

When this Shropshire College needed to expand it’s Building Services Department, the only way was to go UP. Working in partnership with the College Estates Department during summer shutdown, ‘Advantage’ built a Mezzanine Floor for office use with one hour fire protection.

The Mezzanine design included for two staircases, one being unprotected, the other a protected fire route with fire rated partitioning.

Further steel stud taped and jointed partitions were built to form first floor classrooms.

Being a Building Services Department, the College built decorating pods on the remaining first floor, maximising space below for the Brick Laying Department.
