With this West Midlands manufacturer working 24/7, it appeared almost impossible to build a mezzanine over existing machinery and services.

Close daily liaison between the Advantage Project Manager and the client’s Engineering Manager proved the key to the success of this project.

By relocating services during the day ready for staged installation of the Mezzanine on nightshifts, ‘Advantage’ completed this 450 sq.m. floor using materials lifters to lift steelwork between machines within 3 weeks. Partitions and electrics were then installed on the first floor.

Shaftwall partitions were built to the perimeter of the new first floor offices where the system was designed to allow build from the inside rather than cause any disruption to the busy ground floor production area.
As the main contractor, working with a CDM coordinator, ‘Advantage’ completed the large fire rated production mezzanine, first floor rest room, boardroom, office, toilets , vinyl flooring, carpeting, small building works and design and installation of office furniture to schedule and with minimal disruption.
